Bürstner has only been building the "Copa" camper van at its production facilities in Wissembourg for around a year and is already celebrating the production of the 1000th vehicle.
Wissembourg. The big moment came on 11 March 2022 at 11 o'clock in the morning: The 1000th Copa rolled off production line number 1 in Wissembourg (France). The recreational vehicle manufacturer Bürstner has therefore far exceeded its original target. When the Copa - a versatile camper van suitable for everyday use - went into production in January 2021, the planned production figure was much less ambitious.
The production facility manager, the "Copa" project team, as well as the production line manager and the works council all greeted the thousandth Copa C 500 vehicle as it rolled off the production line. "The Wissembourg site has a long recreational vehicle construction history. We are all extremely proud to continue this with the Copa, which has been so successful in the market!" says Michel Baumann, who manages Bürstner's production facility in Wissembourg.
The reason for its success is obvious: The Copa totally meets the trend towards multifunctional and compact recreational vehicles. Thanks to a modular rail track system inside the floor, it is so variable that it is suitable for all kinds of uses: Outdoor holiday, transporting bikes, shopping for bulky items, dropping the kids off at school, commuting to work and much more, and all of this combined with the modern home comforts that are typical for Bürstner. On board, for example: A functional kitchen with an impressive 2.47 metres of headroom, many cleverly fitted storage options and a large double bed in the pop-top roof.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team, whose members have set up the production line in the shortest time possible and trained the staff so well. Thanks also to our maintenance, planning and production engineering teams, the project managers, the technicians and the engineers who installed and commissioned the production line. Without their experience and support, we would not have managed all of this within such a tight time frame. Of course, I would also like to thank the company management, without whom this investment would not have been possible," adds the production facility's manager Baumann.
The Wissembourg site has been producing Bürstner recreational vehicles, both caravans as well as motorhomes, since 1974.
